Well, June was a fun month, so sorry that you missed it. I forgot to post anything during that time. Comic-Con International in San Diego is just a week and a half away, and it’s down to crunch time for me. I’m super excited to see all of you who are able to make it out again!
Commission spaces are still open for the show, Please email me if you have a commission request.
The White Album book will be a huge hit! We’re hyping this up as much as we can, and I’m super proud of the effort that was put in by all contributing artists. Here’s a video to get you hyped.
The books will be 20$ each, a real steal. If you do not want a book but just the prints from it, I will have all three available at the show. Comic-con attendees can have their books signed and sketched in by each contributing artist, as everyone will be there! Good times!
Prints at the show will be 10 dollars each for the 8.5 x 11, and when you buy three you get one free! Buttons are limited and will be sold individually and in sets of three. 1$ – 5$. Large prints will vary in price 30$ – 60$. If there is a image that you would be interested in a large print of please email me ahead of time so I can have that image ready for you.
Introducing new Afordabitez. Always wanted an original piece from me but just don’t have a few hundred to spend? I’ve started work on a handful of little pieces that will be 75$ each. They’re 4×4 on wood block things and they are super fun! I’m going to try to have just a whole bunch of them, with lots of variety! we’ll see what happens!
The time has finally come after much teeth-pulling that my work for The White Album Project is complete. I ran into a major smag with the “Piggies” painting, that ended up being more touch-up work than I had wanted.
A bit about the project:
A group of Artist Alley members from the San Diego Comic Con have gotten together this year to provide something unique to their fans. Each have created three images portraying different Beatles songs, to be put into a self-published hardcover book. The books will be sold exclusively by the individual artists, and should run somewhere between 20 and 30 dollars a book. All participating artists will be at Comic-Con 2009 to sign and sketch in the book. For a full artist list and links go to thewhitealbum.net.
My own touch:
I have created images to go with the songs Piggies, The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill, and Everybody’s Got Something to Hide (Except for Me and My Monkey) I should have these posted by today, or at least by the end of the week.
Had a wonderful time in Los Angeles this past weekend participating in The Brewery’s Semi-annual Art Walk. The very night before the show I was able to complete the Platypile, and have posted it on my website www.monkeycadaver.com and on my DeviantArt. Check it out and tell me what you think!
This weekend I sold the original painting of It Still Beats. Thanks to everyone who showed up and supported art!
Don’t forget to check out Your Psycho Girlfriend! My sister Kasey is who I showed with and our work just compliments each other so nice! It was a ton of fun!
